Prof. Chatzi is honored with the J.M. Ko Award

Prof. Eleni Chatzi is honored to have received the J.M. Ko award, awarded by the The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, to promote and recognize excellence in Structural Engineering research:

The 2024 J.M. Ko award was presented to two laureates, with Prof. Xinzheng Lu (Tsinghua University) being the further recipient of this honor.

This wonderful recognition is a result of collaborative research efforts at the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich, along a vision for self-aware infrastructures, founded on valuable collaborations with academic and industry partners, and continual ideation & exchange with past and current team members.

The Award is named after Prof. Jan-Ming Ko, the first Chair Professor of Structural Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University, in honor of his remarkable contributions as a scholar, teacher and mentor to young people in structural engineering. The award was presented by Prof. J.M. Ko himself and Prof. Jin-Guang Teng (President, PolyU).
