Inspire at ICONHIC 2022
Participation of the INSPIRE project to the 3rd International Conference on Natural Hazards & Infrastructure (ICONHIC 2022) proved to capture the attention of the engineering community towards designing innovative mechanisms for wave manipulation
Kyriakos Chondrogiannis communicated his work on nonlinear metamaterial development for vibration mitigation of seismic waves. The results and findings of the research were presented, showing the advantages in the use of nonlinear metamaterial devices for seismic protection of structures. Scaled prototypes of the devised metamaterials solutions were displayed at the INSPIRE booth, where visitors were able to visualize and comprehend the involved concepts and mechanisms.
Fruitful discussions with professors, engineers and other researchers took place, triggering ideas for further development and research direction, leading to potential collaborations.
