Panagiotis Martakis' defense concluded an exciting journey from centrifuge experiments, to field monitoring, to controlled testing of bridges & measurements during demolition of buildings throughout Zurich, to theoretical investigations and new developments in AI applications for seismic sensing and monitoring - all this interspersed with teaching structural engineering in German, supporting group members with expertise in sensing, and supervising numerous student theses and projects.

Check out some of Dr. Martakis' accomplishments on his external page Google Scholar page and brace yourselves on what comes next with external page Seismohealth!

Special thanks to the thesis co-supervisor Yves Reuland, the doctoral committee members Bozidar Stojadinovic and Anastasios Sextos and the Chair Ioannis Anastasopoulos for the insightful remarks and interesting discussions.

Best wishes for an exciting future ahead Panagiotis Martakis!
