Congratulations to Bao Zhao
for his best poster award at VEH2023
Congrats to Bao Zhao, PhD candidate at the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich under the supervision of Andrea Colombi, for winning the Best Poster Award at the external page 4th International Conference on Vibration and Energy Harvesting Applications (VEH2023) held in Xiangtan, China.
Bao presented his work on a nonlinear metamaterial endowed with a nonlinear damping effect, induced via inertia amplifiers. The theoretical and experimental results demonstrate the nonlinear bandgap and modal frequency dissipation effects or broadband vibration attenuation.
Bao further presented his work at the external page SMART 2023 ECCOMAS Thematic Conference, organized in Patras this year, focusing on intelligent materials, smart structures and systems.
