ETH Zurich at the 10th Asia Pacific Workshop on SHM
Members of the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich—Kiran Bacsa, Xudong Jian, and Huangbin Liang—are participating in the 10th Asia Pacific Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (APWSHM) in Sendai, Japan. Their work focuses on physics-enhanced machine learning, monitoring, and decision support as part of the Future Resilient Systems (FRS) program of the Singapore-ETH Centre.
The Asia Pacific Workshop on Structural Health Monitoring (APWSHM) is a prominent platform for experts to discuss advancements in monitoring and resilience technologies. At this year’s event, Kiran Bacsa also chaired a session, facilitating insightful discussions on the use of deep learning for strain estimation and its applications in structural health monitoring (SHM).
The ETH Zurich team’s contributions underline the potential of integrating machine learning with physics-based models to enhance monitoring systems and decision-making processes. Their work as part of the Future Resilient Systems program aims to advance technologies for more robust and adaptable infrastructures in the face of global challenges.
