ETH Zurich Contributions to ReCharged MSCA Staff Exchanges

Members of the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich, including Konstantinos Vlachas, Kyriakos Chondrogiannis, and Marcus Haywood-Alexander, are actively participating in the ReCharged MSCA Staff Exchanges program. Their efforts contribute to advancing critical asset resilience through cutting-edge research and international collaboration.

This December, the ReCharged MSCA Staff Exchanges project celebrated a productive milestone, bringing together researchers to foster collaboration and innovation. Konstantinos Vlachas from the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich played a key role, delivering an insightful seminar on “Virtualization of Parametric Dynamical Systems Through Uncertainty-Aware Reduced Order Modeling.” His presentation introduced an innovative framework for simplifying complex dynamical systems while addressing uncertainties—critical for advancing engineering resilience.

The event also highlighted collaborations with Brunel University of London, Factor Social, and other international partners. Dr. Sotirios Argyroudis, hosted by Grid Engineers, contributed to the finalization of WP2, focusing on climate hazard assessment methods incorporating future projections.

The ReCharged MSCA Staff Exchanges program exemplifies the power of research exchanges to drive innovation and tackle global challenges, aligning perfectly with the mission of ETH Zurich’s Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring.
