Research area

Panagiotis is a post-doctoral researcher supported by the BRIDGE Proof of Concept and the Gebert Rüf Innobooster grant to bring state-of-the-art monitoring tools to the engineering practice. Panagiotis completed his Ph.D. at the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich, focusing on Machine-learning aided methods for the seismic assessment and damage characterization of existing structures. Before that, Panagiotis worked as a professional engineer in structural evaluation for three years. He holds two M.Sc. degrees from ETH Zurich and from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, specializing in Structural and Geotechnical Engineering. His main research interest include vibration-based structural health monitoring, AI-driven structural diagnostics, low-cost monitoring systems, vibrational analysis of novel structures and seismic evaluation of existing infrastructure and buildings.
