Charikleia Stoura is a visiting Postdoctoral researcher at the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring of the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering (DBAUG) at ETH Zürich. She obtained her diploma in Civil Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens in 2015, followed by her Ph.D. from the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2021. In 2022 she joined the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring as a Postdoctoral researcher, supported by an ETH Zürich Postdoctoral Fellowship. Currently, she continues her research under a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Global Postdoctoral Fellowship with ETH Zürich and Politecnico di Milano.
Charikleia’s research interest focuses on the on-board monitoring of railway infrastructure utilizing data from traversing trains. Her objective is to develop a reliable, cost-effective methodology to continuously monitor the structural integrity of critical components of railway infrastructure, such as tracks and bridges.
