Short bio
Wei received his bachelor’s degree in Statistics from Nanjing University in 2020. Thereafter, he joined the Singapore-ETH Centre (SEC) as a PhD researcher, working for the projects Data Network Resilience in Cyber-Physical Systems and the Dynamic Mobile Sensing Platforms. His current research focuses on leveraging machine learning methods, especially deep generative models, to identify the underlying dynamics of structural systems from sensing data, and applying the learned surrogate model on downward problems such as structural health monitoring, preventive maintenance planning and decision-making problems.
Research interest
- Machine learning methods in structural dynamics and identification problems
- Structural health monitoring
- Deep generative models and probabilistic graphical models for surrogate modeling
- Degradation process modeling
