Xudong joined the Future Resilient Systems (FRS) programme at Singapore-ETH Centre and the Chair of Structural Mechanics and Monitoring at ETH Zurich as a Postdoctoral Researcher. Advised by Prof. Eleni CHATZI, Xudong works for the ‘Resilience Modelling of Cyber-Physical Systems’ research module. The main objective of the research work Xudong undertakes is to effectuate the mobile sensing concept on the condition assessment of civil structures such as a network of bridges and roads and thus provide necessary information to enhance their resilience.
Prior to joining FRS, Xudong obtained his bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in civil engineering from Tongji University, Shanghai, China, where he worked on the research and practice of structural health monitoring with the focus on bridge weigh-in-motion, mobile sensing, and applied artificial intelligence.
