Intelligent Rail Summit

During the Intelligent Rail Summit 2022 in Konstanz, Cyprien Hoelzl gave a talk on the topic of "On Board Monitoring for Railway Infrastructure". In particular, he presented latest work in the field of data-driven assessment of the condition of welds. This work forms part of a proof of concept (PoC) developed in collaboration with the Swiss Federal Railqays (SBB), in work led by Aurelia Kollros and Marcel Zurkirchen of the Measurement and Diagnostics division of the SBB. This PoC combines acceleration-based indicators with expert knowledge in order to deliver robust diagnostics on the structural condition of rail-track welded joints.
